Much of the furniture in Cherry Hill Farmhouse is made in the “Empire Style”. This style originated in France at the start of the 1800's. Although in France it only lasted until around the 1820's it had spread to other countries like the United States where it lasted much longer. This style was based off of the earlier "Directoire Style" which it elaborated on. More specifically the "Empire Style"furniture that it in Cherry Hill Farmhouse is in the "American Empire Style" which was post 1820 and considered the second phase of the neoclassical style.
